Prep Time: 15 min
Cook Time: 15 min

Ingredients

6 boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into chunks
½ tsp salt
8 slices thick-cut bacon
1 large apple, peeled, cored and cut into chunks
¼ cup maple syrup
¼ cup Dijon mustard

Food Safety

Before you start, wash all surfaces and your hands with soap and warm water, and remember to wash your hands, utensils and cutting boards after they touch raw meat or eggs. Avoid cross-contamination by using a different cutting board for your meat and other ingredients. Make sure you’re cooking to safe temperatures and chilling any leftovers within two hours. Steps

  1. Soak wooden skewers in cold water for 30 minutes before grilling. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat; grease the grate well. Season the chicken with salt. Cut each slice of bacon into 3 pieces and wrap around each piece of chicken. Alternate threading chicken and apple onto soaked wooden skewers. Whisk the maple syrup with the mustard until smooth.

  2. Place the skewers on the grill and immediately reduce the heat to medium. Cook, basting often with the maple mixture, for 15 minutes or until chicken is cooked through and caramelized.

Helpful Tip

Use hot mustard in the glaze for sweet and spicy skewers.
