There’s nothing like cheesy, creamy homemade mac & cheese. Traditional mac & cheese, while delicious, has a reputation for being pretty high in fat and calories. We’ve “healthied" up our version by using whole wheat macaroni for extra fibre and added some cooked chicken for a protein boost.
Despite what you may think, homemade mac & cheese is pretty easy to make too. Blend all your sauce ingredients in a blender or food processor and pour over the macaroni, butter and cooked chicken. Over medium-high heat cook until smooth and creamy, about 5 minutes.
And there you have it. Protein packed comfort food in less than an hour.
