How to Make Thai Chicken Burgers
When one thinks of burgers the aromatic flavours of Thai cooking are not usually the first flavours that come to mind. However, when these flavours are combined with ground chicken they come together to form a deliciously unique burger experience.
In a large bowl add all your burger ingredients and combine with your hands or a fork to make sure all the ingredients are evenly distributed and mixed well. Separate the mixture evenly into 4 and form patties that are about ½ inch thick. To make sure the burgers cook evenly, and don’t swell in the centre, press your thumb into the centre of the patty to form a slight indent. Cover and cook over medium heat until browned, about 3 minutes a side. Lower the temperature to as lowest point and cover. Continue cooking about 4 more minutes a side until a nice crust is formed.
Garnish with fresh coriander and sliced cucumber for some extra crunch and a Thai zing. For those looking for an extra kick, combine a little Sriracha and mayo together to create a spicy topper for your burger. In keeping with the theme, serve your burger with a side of Thai green papaya salad and bottle of Thailand’s famous Tiger beer.
