Bestselling cookbook author and television personality Theresa Albert demonstrates how to save money by buying and cutting up a whole chicken - it's easier than you think, and the results are stunning. For just a few minutes of your time you can save $10-$12 by cutting up the chicken pieces yourself.

The trick is to cut the chicken at the joint rather than trying to cut through the bone. For the breast, slice alongside the bone and gently pull the breast away from the chicken. Place your sectioned pieces into plastic freezer bags and either refrigerate or freeze until ready for use. Use the leftover portion of the chicken to make a stock for soups and gravies.

And there you have it. For just a few minutes of your time you can save $10-$12 by cutting up the chicken pieces yourself and have dinner for an entire week.
