Jambalaya is a traditional Creole dish from Louisiana. Similar to a paella, jambalaya is a medley of sausage, chicken, shrimp, rice and Cajun spices all cooked together in a large pot.
Jambalaya, despite what you may have heard, is also incredibly easy to make. All you need is a good sized, heavy bottomed pot and you can have piping hot jambalaya on the table in under an hour.
Garnish with fresh cilantro, a few hits of Tabasco sauce and serve with an ice cold beer. Over time experiment with the spices to suit your tastes and try adding different types of sausages and seafood. We guarantee you’ll be making this at least once a week.
