How to Make a Protein Rich Breakfast

Food Network personality and nutritionist Theresa Albert helps us get a protein-rich start to the day with her chicken breakfast burrito.

We all know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and that a good breakfast starts with a healthy mix of carbs and proteins. Proteins help keep us feeling full longer, which means we won’t be reaching for calorie-laden snacks mid-morning.

Most of us don’t think about chicken for breakfast either, but it’s a delicious and nutritious way to add some extra flavour and protein to your morning meal, and it’s a great way to use up leftover chicken.

Theresa shows us how to make an easy breakfast burrito that’s also portable. Instead of just plain ol’ scrambled eggs in your burrito add some chopped chicken, a bit of cheese and some Italian seasoning. Place in a warmed flour tortilla and fold for a grab and go breakfast! Try adding some veg to your burrito including green peppers and spring onions. Serve with a little salsa for some extra flavour.
